Aptly titled “mid season premium,” the two upcoming shows will take place on October 24 and November 14 at Cotie Rotie in Karachi.

It’s been a big year for Salt Arts, the Karachi-based company that deals “with management and production of the arts”.

They’ve entered their third year and marked their 50th show with a beautiful night featuring the living legend Ustaad Naseeruddin Saami and Saami and Brothers.

This year Salt Arts has produced plenty of shows including The Southasia Ensemble (in collaboration with Chapter 2) co-curated with Ahsan Bari that featured Aziz Kazi, Saif Abbas Rizwan, Rahat Inayat Ali and Shahid Rehman, along with guest artists Arieb Azhar, Omran Shafique, Natasha Baig and Quaid Ahmed.

They also presented a special edition show of Mughal-e-Funk that is best described as “Southasian Funk”. The show featured Rakae Jamil, Kami Paul, Rufus Shehzad, joined by Joshua Amjad, Mohammad Aizaz, Nimra Rafiq, Rassab Amir and Raania Azam Khan Durrani.

Salt Arts also co-curated Open with Babar Sheikh and Omran Shafique that featured Shahab Hussain, Lenny Massey, Ajay Harry and Salman. Now the same dream team, known for its excellent shows that come attached with ambience based on the music, is presenting two shows, aptly titled “mid season premium.”

The first one, Salt Soiree 26, is set to feature music group Mirage, which includes Saad Hayat and will take place on Wednesday, October 24th at Cotie Rotie. According to Salt Arts, Mirage is described as “the sound of Karachi’s footloose spirit and the city’s number one party band.”

The second one, Salt Soiree 27, will feature emerging group (with central Asian influences), Saakin, who come from Islamabad and consist of Varqa Faraid, Parham Faraid, Ibrahim Akram, Usman Shakeel and Ali Hamdani.

They made their music video debut with a thrilling song called ‘Saqi-e-Bawafa’ earlier this year. Saakin gig is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 14th, also at Cotie Rotie in Karachi. Watch out for this double-concert series and book your tickets now.
