Writer-director Khalil ur Rehman Qamar ropes in Ayesha Omar for his next, Kaaf Kangana. Besides Ayesha, the film will feature Sami Khan and model turned actor Eshal Fayyaz in lead roles.
“Khalil sahab approached me almost three months ago and asked me to act in his film Kaaf Kangana. I didn’t have dates at that point of time so the shoot was a little delayed,” the actor and host told Instep. “The fact is that there is no better writer than Khalil ur Rehman Qamar in the industry right now. I absolutely love his work and I felt honoured when he came to me for this role.”
According to Ayesha, there are two female leads in the film; one is Indian while the other is Pakistani. “I am essaying the character of Gulnaaz, a Pakistani girl, who is based in the Walled City in Lahore.” She added, “She comes from an upper middle class family who lives with her dada and siblings. Gulnaaz is a bubbly and fearless kind of girl who isn’t scared of anything.”
Speaking about her director, the actor observed, “Khalil sahab knows his work, he knows how to direct his actors and is someone who takes every detail into account. He is just amazing to work with.”
Aside from Kaaf Kangana, Khalil ur Rehman is also writing a film for Humayun Saeed, that will be directed by Nadeem Baig. He earlier collaborated with the duo for Punjab Nahi Jaungi that turned out to be huge success at the box office. Kaaf Kangana is scheduled to release around Eid-ul-Azha this year.
