Chris Nolan is notoriously cagey about keeping his film plots a complete secret and following in his footsteps, writer and director Shoaib Mansoor has found a reason to delay his upcoming film Verna because of its “leaked” plot.
According a report published in Gulf News by Usman Ghafoor, because of a curtain raiser on Verna printed earlier in the year, Mansoor was miffed by a story that mentioned “among other things, the film’s one-liner.”
Ghafoor noted in the piece: “Apparently, Mansoor was so upset that he called everyone associated with the project and took them to task. He also told them in strong terms that they should not speak to the media directly. What’s more, Mansoor even started contemplating re-shooting his film’s climax. Talk about being paranoid.”
While the decision to delay the film does belong to Mansoor, ultimately it must be remembered that keeping a film’s plot shrouded in absolute secrecy is near impossible in this day and age where everyone has Internet on their smart phone and things tend to surface one way or another.
Verna stars Mahira Khan alongside singer-songwriter Haroon Shahid. The film also counts in its cast actors like Rasheed Naz, Naimal Khawar and Zarrar Khan, with the latter playing the chief antagonist in the movie. No official release date of the film has been announced just yet.
