Film and TV actress Sanam Saeed won the Best Supporting Actress (Film) trophy for Dobara Phir Se at the 16th Annual Lux Style Awards held last week. She also appeared in the recently concluded drama serial Dil Banjaara that co-starred Adnan Malik. The two will now be seen together with Aamina Sheikh in Asim Abbasi’s directorial debut Cake.

“Cake is an amazing film,” Saeed told Instep on the sidelines of LSAs 2017. “I don’t do the regular commercial film. The script of Cake is written beautifully. It’s a family story; it’s about love and loss.”

The actress also shared that 80 per cent of the shoot is done and they are left with just three days of shooting, which will take place soon in London.

Sharing her views on the LSAs, Saeed noted, “I think it’s a platform that allows everyone to showcase their work and to be acknowledged and recognized for it. And change is always good. I am here this year because Sheru [HSY] is doing it.”

When we asked if she feels these awards aren’t credible – like a lot of actors do – Saeed opted not to comment.

Coming back to her upcoming film Cake, the latest news surrounding the film is that Faris Khalid, who made his big screen debut with Chalay Thay Saath, has recently joined the cast of the film.

There is absolutely nothing we know about the film’s story but what we do know is that it has a talented, inspiring cast. We do hope it lives up to our expectations.
