Fans who have been diligently waiting for the release of Mom, an upcoming production that features actors from India and Pakistan, can breathe a sigh of relief as the film’s release date has been pushed back by a week.
The film, which features Sridevi alongside Sajal Aly and Adnan Siddique, was originally scheduled to release on July 14 of this year but will now release on July 7. According to one newspaper report, the reason for this shift in release date is a method is to avoid box office battle(s) with Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos, Saif Ali Khan-starrer Chef and Shraddha Kapoor’s Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai.
Dubbed as a mother-daughter drama, Mom stars Sridevi in the titular role with Aly playing her daughter and Siddiqui essaying her husband. From what we’ve seen in the teaser trailer, the actors look good together and seem to have strong roles.
Directed by Ravi Udyawar, Mom is a suspense thriller that revolves around the struggle of mother who is torn between “bad and very bad”, according to the teaser.
Apart from Sridevi, Aly and Siddiqui, the Boney Kapoor film production also features actors Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui with music direction duties performed by A. R. Rahman.
