Singer-songwriter Komal Rizvi, whose collaborative music video with Qurram Hussain, ‘Desan Da Raja’, won the Google Award for the fourth most watched video on YouTube in Pakistan, is all set to return to the spotlight with the upcoming season two of Cornetto Pop Rock that begins later this month.

Aside from singing, Rizvi has also acted in a number of TV plays and is now gearing up for her big screen debut in Hollywood with a hard core political film called Afreen. She will be playing the lead role of an Iraqi refugee who’s also a Crav Maga (Israeli Martial Art technique) instructor.

“The movie is now happening in April, it’s being done in Canada, Toronto,” she told Instep on the sidelines of the launch event of Cornetto Pop Rock 2 in Karachi. “I’m still training and learning martial arts for it. But I would be able to share more details closer to April.”

Rizvi, who is one of the six artists to feature on Cornetto Pop Rock 2, also talked about her music video that is expected to come out in the next few days. “I’ve written and composed the song myself,” she told Instep. “It’s one of the better songs that I have done myself. It’s a single which is launching on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, on the 13th of February.”
