After making waves with his intense portrayal of a child molester in last year’s hit drama serial Udaari, actor Ahsan Khan is all set to experiment with lighter characters on the big screen this year. He is expected to appear in three films in the coming months out of which two are comedies whereas the third one is yet to be announced.
“My role in Udaari was intense so I planned to take up lighter projects this season,” Khan told Instep.
Khan’s upcoming film Chupan Chupai that marks his debut in the new age cinema is a comedy of errors and stars TV actress Neelam Muneer opposite him. Having completed the shooting of the film, Khan shared about his role, “The name of my character in Chupan Chupai is Babu, a guy from Karachi. It’s a story from the streets in which the guy tries to sort things out but the situation takes a completely different turn.”
His second film, Rehbara is a romantic comedy and features Ayesha Omar and Sehrish Khan in pivotal roles. “Rehbara is a romantic film with a twist,” Khan shared.
Currently busy with the shooting of Rehbara, Khan informed that the film will be shot in Karachi, Lahore and Northern Areas while it is expected to come out on Eid-ul-Azha this year. What Khan has in store for us, time will tell.
