Pakistan’s nascent film industry has received support and acclaim from all quarters after reviving the filmmaking trend in the country. Despite years of lapse, Pakistani audience has taken to the cinema again like there was never any slump and since its revamp, not even a full five years ago, the number of films being produced by Pakistan has risen exponentially.

We’ve already seen a number of big hits released this year with a varied ensemble; from Bachaana with Mohib Mirza and Sanam Saeed to Iman Ali and Fahad Mustafa-starrer art film Mah-e-Mir, but the list of movies yet to see the light of the cinema is still quite lengthy.

There’s Jaanan with Armeena Khan opposite Ali Rehman and Bilal Ashraf which is shot under Reham Khan Productions’ umbrella, another featuring Fahad Mustafa is Nabeel Qureshi’s Actor in Law, and then there is the sequel to Ayesha Omar’s Karachi say Lahore, Lahore Se Aagey starring Saba Qamar and the hilarious Yasir Hussain in lead roles.

There’s also a rom-com that’s star-studded with the likes of Usha Shah, Mohib Mirza, Uzma Khan and Mohsin Abbas Haider titled Teri Meri Love Story which is expected to release on September 2 and Humaima Malick’s brother Feroze Khan making his big screen debut with Anjum Shahzad’s Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hay hai alongside Sajal Aly.

Despite being nearly the end of the year it seems like the Pakistani film industry is going full steam ahead and isn’t willing to lose momentum.
