KARACHI: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has removed the names of five visually challenged and deceased teachers from its list of presiding officers after a report in this connection was aired on Geo News.

Talking to Geo News, Sindh Election Commissioner said the names of 3 visually challenged and 2 deceased teachers have been removed from the list of presiding officers.

"The visually challenged and deceased teachers are being replaced in presiding officers' list", he told Geo News.

Earlier, Professor Aman Khalilullah, who teaches in Government College Nazimabad and is visually challenged, told Geo News that he has been appointed as the presiding officer in UC 43, Liaquatabad for the upcoming Local Government elections.

"I am still surprised on receiving ECP's letter. The commission should have performed checks prior to assigning the responsibility of presiding officer", he said.
