KARACHI: Injections seized by the Sindh Drug Testing Laboratory (SDTL) during the last three years were not analysed if they conform to standards of use or are life-threatening.
Geo News learnt on Tuesday that most work including testing of injections and medicines had been halted since 2012 as SDTL did not have any machinery or a system for testing the injections in the first place.
The SDTL, therefore, used to send the injections to the Central Drug Testing Laboratory (CDTL), run by the federal government for testing.
The CDTL in turn refused any testing since the last three years as the Sindh Health Department owes Rs.6.4 million to the CTDL.
Meanwhile, Geo News also learnt that the SDTL was already in a bad state of affairs due to lack of interest by the provincial government as post of Director STDL has been lying vacant since several months and neither is there any appropriate machinery available at the lab.
