Medical fraternity denounces Bisma's VIP protocol death

Central President of Sindh Paramedical Staff Welfare Association SPSWA Akhlaq Ahmed Khan on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of a minor girl due to VIP protocol accorded to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah during their visit to the Civil Hospital Karachi.

KARACHI: Central President of Sindh Paramedical Staff Welfare Association SPSWA Akhlaq Ahmed Khan on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of a minor girl due to VIP protocol accorded to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah during their visit to the Civil Hospital Karachi. 

The approach roads to the hospital were closed for the security of the VIPs resulting in the tragic death of the minor girl who was deprived of emergency medical assistance. 

In his statement Akhlaq Ahmed Khan strongly condemned the death of a 10-month old girl Bismah, daughter of Faisal, a resident of Lyari area. 

The ill-fated child was suffering from measles and her father was rushing her to Civil Hospital Karachi for emergency treatment but all link roads leading to the hospital were closed for the protocol and security of the VIPs. 

As a result, the minor girl died while waiting for opening of the roads leading to the hospital. 

Meanwhile Chairman Sindh Doctors Forum Dr Nawaz Ali Mallah also strongly condemned the death of the girl and demanded of Supreme Court of Pakistan to take a suo moto notice of the sad incident. 

He demanded registration of a murder FIR against Chief Minister Sindh, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Karachi.
