A man hurled shoe at chief minister of Odisha, an eastern Indian estate just when he was preparing to address an election rally, according to local media on Wednesday.
The incident took place at a village ahead of a by-poll.
The footwear narrowly missed CM Naveen Patnaik, The Times of India reported.
After waving at the public, he was preparing to speak when the incident happened.
His party said the youth who hurled shoe was a worker of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
