A man was able to escape from his car moments before a train hit his vehicle in the United States.
According to New York police, the car became stranded on the tracks at the crossing in Congers about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
"Thankfully the sole occupant of the car was able to get away from the car before the train hit it," the police said in a Facebook post.
"The crossing was closed for an hour as a tow truck removed the car and a safety inspection was done on the tracks."
The police also shared video of a car being smashed by a train after the driver made a speedy escape from the vehicle.
