Maria Toor wins women's title in Jashan-e-Azadi Squash Championship

LAHORE: Maria Toorpakai Wazir, Pakistan's top female squash player, won the trophy of the National Jashan-e-Azadi Squash Championship 2017 here on Monday.
Maria Toor defeated Faiza Zafar 3-0 to claim the title in the women's contest while Tayyab Aslam won the men’s competition by defeating Farhan Zaman 3-2.
The four-day championship was held to mark the 70th birthday celebration of the country's independence.
The squash tournament was inaugurated at the Punjab Squash Complex in Lahore on Friday.
Maria is the younger sister of Aisha Gulalai, a former member of the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
