NEW YORK: The United Nations Chief, Antonio Guterres attended Pakistan Day celebrations in New York here Thursday.
Pakistan’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi welcomed António Guterres.
The UN Secretary General, speaking on the occasion, acknowledged that Pakistan has been at forefront in hosting Afghan refugees, adding that Pakistan is a beautiful country and he is pleased to participate in the Pakistan Day celebrations.
Speaking to Geo News, Lodhi said that the participation of foreign dignitaries in Pakistan Day celebrations reflects the defeat of those quarters who aspire to diplomatically isolate the country.
“Pakistan has a bright future. And on this day let’s remember those who gave their efforts in making this country,” Lodhi added.
