Sarfraz leading Pakistan fightback after disastrous start in 2nd ODI
LONDON: Sarfraz Ahmed and Babar Azam took Pakistan out of trouble after they lost three top-order batsmen for only two runs on the board in the second One-day International against England here at Lord’s on Saturday.
Both batsmen added 64 runs for the fourth wicket before Babar fell after making a valuable 30 but then Sarfraz found another good supporter in Shoaib Malik and they have made another useful 59 runs for the fifth wicket.
However, Shoaib went out for 28 when Pakistan reached 125 in 26.2 overs. He faced 33 balls and hit one six and one four.
Sarfraz still leading the fight back with an unbeaten 59 runs. This was his fifth ODI fifty, which he completed in 61 balls with three fours.
Pakistan are now 125 for five and all five wickets went to England pacers, Chris Woakes and mark Wood claimed two wickets each while Liam Plunkett took one wicket.
