Oasis Glastonbury rumors put to rest with straight answer

Oasis will not headline Glastonbury next year, according to festival organiser Emily Eavis.

Earlier this week, the Don't Look Back in Anger hitmakers released the dates for their 2027 tour, and eagle-eyed fans noticed that they don't have a show on Sunday 27 June, the final night of Glastonbury, leading some to believe they would be the closing headliner.

However, Eavis has now shut down the speculation on Instagram.

"Please say you've got Oasis," wrote one follower, to which she replied, "Sorry Jimmy, not this time!"

Her comment confirms what front man Liam Gallagher told fans on X last month when one user informed him Oasis were the bookmakers' favourite to headline Glastonbury.

"It's not happening so all you croc wearing flag waving s**t ***** can calm the f**k down (sic)," he declared.

Oasis made their debut at the festival, held at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England, in 1994 and returned as headliners the following year. They headlined the Pyramid Stage once again in 2004.

Last month, Eavis also ruled out Madonna as a headliner for the 2027 edition.

"No, it's definitely not Madonna, I'll tell you that," she said on BBC Radio 4. "But we have got three headliners and we're very excited about it - it's all coming together really well."

Glastonbury 2027 runs from 23 to 27 June with the line up to be revealed next year before the festival.

Meanwhile Liam and Noel Gallagher along with their band members will kick off their 2027 tour on May 21 in Glasgow, Scotland and conclude with a four-night run at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire between September 11 and 19.

Previously, Oasis has performed two historic shows at the site in August 1996.
