Apple’s iOS 27 arrives tomorrow with Siri and AI upgrades: What users need to know

Apple is set to release iOS 27 tomorrow bringing a smarter Siri along with systemwide performance optimizations. The update drops September 14 starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Time with global deployment reaching the UK at 6 p.m. and expanding into Asia and Australia the following morning.

While key features include a revamped Siri with deeper AI, performance boosts, a refined Liquid Glass design and improved photos, enhanced Camera features are now available on iPhone 11 and later models.

Matching updates hit iPadOs, macOs and vision Os with a pre-update check list and tips on freeing up space shared widely among excited users. Early on, Claude ran as a Siri Extension using the model delegation API in goals while in some cases, Siri Extensions can be more powerful than native Siri AI.

However, when system interaction is required such as setting a reminder, Claude can pass a structured user request back to the system or another service for execution.

Siri is powered by the conversational capabilities of Apple Intelligence. At this year’s Worldwide developers’ conference, Apple announced that its own upgraded version will be powered by Google Gemini models. 

Moreover, Siri can efficiently browse the internet for information, answer requests using natural language processing and easily understand exactly what’s happening on your screen.  Siri can expand your images or even reframe one’s perspective. Siri is further integrated into writing across Apple applications including Notes, email and text messaging.
