Kate Middleton joins Prince William for a powerful World Suicide Day mission on Thursday.

The royal couple came together for an important engagement in Liverpool, attending an event at Everton Football Club’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

William launched a new suicide prevention toolkit designed to help people in the sporting community recognize warning signs and start potentially life-saving conversations.

For those unaware, the new guide, titled On Your Side: A Suicide Prevention Toolkit for People in Sport, was developed by the Royal Foundation in partnership with mental health charity Chasing the Stigma. It aims to equip athletes, coaches, parents, officials and supporters with practical advice for helping someone who may be struggling.

Prince William has spoken openly about his personal connection to suicide prevention, including experiences from his time working as an air ambulance pilot. He has since made mental health and suicide prevention a significant part of his public work.

The future King of Britain emphasized the unique role sport can play in creating connection and belonging, noting that friends, teammates and coaches are often the first people to notice when someone is struggling.

This appearance comes during a busy week for Prince William and Kate Middleton after their son Prince George’s first day at Eton College and the Prince of Wales attendance at King Harald of Norway’s funeral.
