Jack Schlossberg reflects on mom Caroline Kennedy's efforts to carry on JFK's legacy

Jack Schlossberg recently reflected on the efforts of his mother, Caroline Kennedy, to continue his late grandfather John F. Kennedy’s (JFK) legacy.

For those unaware, Caroline is the daughter of the 35th U.S. President JFK, who was assassinated on November 22, 1963. Lee Harvey Oswald shot him to death when he was riding in a presidential motorcade through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas.

PEOPLE magazine interviewed Jack, a New York congressional candidate, who discussed his mother’s involvement in carrying on the legacy of her father’s legacy through the annual John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award ceremony held at JFK’s presidential library in Boston on May 31.

He said, “She’s the toughest person in the world. She takes everything that she does incredibly seriously, including the award, and including the work that she does for the library.”

“We were really excited to give it to Jay Powell. That's something I felt really strongly about, but we also wanted to make sure we met the moment," Schlossberg admitted, referring to an award given to the outgoing Federal Reserve chair, Powell, for standing up to the Trump administration.

“And we found a way to honor the people of the Twin Cities, and my mother was really instrumental in figuring out how we were going to do that and how we were going to come up with the program,” the 33-year-old American commentator and writer noted, adding that Caroline “always insists that we go above and beyond.”

It is pertinent to mention that the 68-year-old American author, diplomat, and attorney has served as a United States ambassador to Australia and Japan in Barak Obama’s and Joe Biden’s regimes.
