Paula Abdul gets honest about Meghan Markle using her song in anniversary tribute
The 'Forever Your Girl' artist Paula Abdul reacted to Meghan Markle's sweet nod
Paula Abdul is over the moon since Meghan Markle gave a shout-out to her song Forever Your Girl.
On Prince Harry and Meghan's eighth wedding anniversary, the Duchess of Sussex used Paula's 1989 iconic song on her Instagram Story to mark her relationship milestone with the Duke of Sussex.
Paula, who has always been the former actress' fan, said at the 2026 American Music Awards on May 25 that she was stunned when she found out Meghan used her song.
“I was in shock and I was so touched," Paula told E News.
"I never take anything for granted with my career, I never have. And so, I'm always humbled to have little gems like that appear in my life. It's very touching."
When Paula saw her music on Meghan's social media Stories, she quickly hit the reshare button and reposted to her Instagram Story.
"I just texted her back," Paula shared, and praised Meghan and Harry's unseen wedding shoot, "What beautiful pictures and thank you so much for using my song.'"
On May 19, Meghan indeed posted her and Harry's never-before-seen image from their nuptials, which took place in 2019, penning, "Eight years ago today."
Harry and Meghan also welcomed two kids, daughter Lilibet, four, and son Archie, seven.
