'Sonic 4' gets exciting filming update ahead of 2027 release

Sonic 4 director Jeff Fowler has shared an exciting update about the upcoming action-adventure comedy film.

Taking to his Instagram on Friday, the filmmaker announced that he has wrapped up filming for Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

“And that a wrap on #SonicMovie4!!! On behalf of this amazing cast/crew, we have filmed the BEST Sonic Movie yet and can’t wait to share," Jeff penned, who directed all three Sonic films.

Along with the announcement, the director shared a photo of himself with the villain of the next sequel, Metal Sonic.

As the post went viral, fans rushed to the comment section to express their excitement for the forthcoming project.

"So excited for the movie!!" penned one person.

"Wow already!! Can’t wait to see the final film," commented another one.

"This is a great surprise for all of us, thank you mister Fowler," expressed a third one.

The film's star-studded cast includes James Marsden, Jim Carrey, Tika Sumpter, Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, and Kristen Bell. However, the plot details for the fourth installment are under wraps.

For those unversed, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is scheduled to release in cinemas on March 19, 2027.
