Anne Hathaway appeared as Mia Thermopolis in the first 'Princess Diaries' movie
Anne Hathaway has finally confirmed that The Princess Diaries 3 is in the works.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the 43-year-old actress revealed that she is “constantly working on” bringing the third installment of the comedy film to the silver screen.
"One hundred percent, we’re constantly working on it," said Anne.
"[Devil Wears Prada 2] cropped up unexpectedly and took over the space," she continued, noting that "it became impossible to focus on both at the same time."
Now, Anna has confirmed that “the intention is to make Princess Diaries hopefully next."
The actress further said that she feels "everybody wants [a next installment],” so she and her team are "chipping away at the script."
"If I learned anything from [Devil Wears Prada 2], it’s that expectations are very, very high, and if you’re going to do it, you have to knock it out of the park," added Anne.
For those unversed, Anna appeared as Mia Thermopolis in the first Princess Diaries movie. Following the success of the first film, the actress reprised her role in a 2004 sequel.
Additionally, Anne is currently gearing up for the release of her new film, The Devil Wears Prada 2. The highly anticipated film will be released in cinemas on May 1.
