Brentford vs Fulham: Harry Wilson future in doubt as uncertainty grows
Fulham's face-off with Brentford comes against the backdrop of Harry Wilson's possible exit
As Brentford vs Fulham is in full swing, there is growing anxiety in the latter club, according to reports, that its top player, Harry Wilson, may walk away.
Insiders tell i The Paper the star winger – who has had a phenomenal season, scoring 11 goals – is halfway to the exit for two main reasons.
First, Fulham's prize asset is looking for a spot closer to home, that is, Wales, and his team is based in London.
“The club has made a significant offer to Harry, but it appears he is leaning towards a move closer to the northwest where he’s from,” a source alleged.
The second reason is the possible departure of Marco Silva – the club's manager – whose contract expires in June.
While negotiations are ongoing between the management and the former Portuguese player, uncertainty looms.
“A lot for him also rests on the possibility of Marco staying, so the club is trying to force something there," the source claimed as Wilson's deal is also set to expire.
“Harry has had his best season so far, particularly after being a more regular influence as a substitute. He is the player Marco really trusts, so a lot will depend on the manager.”
Currently, Brentford and Fulham have been giving their best shots at the other team's goalposts.
With the latter club trailing their rival by five spots in the rankings, there is pressure on Fulham to win the next five out of six games to secure a spot in the European qualification.
