Yalda Hakim gets roasted over comments on Scott Bessent interview interruption
Yalda Hakim is accused of lying about how Scott Bessent looked shaken after being summoned to Situation Room
Sky News anchor Yalda Hakim is facing backlash over her comments on a dramatic moment when US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was being interviewed by Wilfred Frost, and he was suddenly called away to the Situation Room
Yalda Hakim shared the clip with the caption, "A remarkable moment. In the middle of an interview with my colleague Wilfred Frost US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is called away after a message from the White House Situation Room: “The President wants you right away.” Minutes later he returns — visibly shaken, barely able to speak."
However, US citizens did not agree with Hakim's claim that Scott Bessent was "visibly shaken" and "barely able to speak " after he returned to the interview. " He literally always speaks like this," said a user in her replies. Another said "He always sounds like this tbh. Very gently spoken guy."
She was also reminded that her claims that the secretary returned minutes later was also incorrect because the timestamp showed "Actually it was over one and a half hours later."
