Small plane crashes into car on crowded Florida highway.
Plane crashing into a car on a Florida interstate and severely injured the driver
A small, twin-engine plane made a dramatic emergency landing on a busy Florida interstate, colliding with a car as confirmed by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The plane smashed into the Camry, briefly bounced on top of it, then swerved to the left, sending debris flaring across the pavement.
The viral dashcam footage particularly shows the fixed-wing, multi-engine aircraft plummeting rapidly onto the packed rush-hour roadway before colliding with the sedan.
Concerning the tragic incident, the 57-year-old woman driving the Camry, who sustained only minor injuries, was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
In this connection, witness Jim Coffey told U.S. media, “We just saw this plane drop out of the sky.”
He said that the aircraft missed his own vehicle by the blink of an eye before crashing into the car ahead.
Federal authorities implied that the pilot had reported experiencing engine problems before the dramatic emergency landing.
Furthermore, the photos of the wreck demonstrated the car’s collapsed trunk and the significant damage to the plane.
As reported by Gulf News, Florida Highway Control (FHP) officials said that the pilot and passenger, who have not been publicly identified, cooperated with authorities following the collision.
The viral video captured a moment of terrifying chaos, and the Federal Aviation Administration has opened an investigation into the incident.
