Michael B Jordan reflects on working with Ryan Coogler
Michael B Jordan has worked with Ryan Coogler for 'Creed' and 'Blank Panther' besides 'Sinners'
Michael B. Jordan has discussed what surprised him about Ryan Coogler while starring in Sinners.
For those unversed, Jordan and Coogler have teamed up on multiple major projects over the years including Creed and Black Panther.
However, the project Sinners left Jordan “in awe” of Coogler.
In a new conversation with Variety for their Awards Circuit Podcast, the actor opened up about working with longtime collaborator Ryan Coogler on their latest film, the critically acclaimed horror drama Sinners.
“I felt like he wanted to do something for him fully, and I felt that passion, and it made me excited about it,” Jordan shared of Coogler's recent work.
The flick has been branded a deeply personal film for Coogler as it was inspired by the director's relationship with his uncle James and his bond with blues music.
Jordan, who takes on the challenging task of playing twin brothers in the movie, admitted that the process pushed him to his limits.
He noted that his upcoming Thomas Crown Affair reimagining was “the second hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life outside of this performance in Sinners,” but emphasized that the emotional and artistic payoff made it worthwhile.
“I want everybody that took the time away from their family to come down here to make a movie with us," he added.
"I want them to get all the love and the respect and the props they deserve,” he concluded.
