Emiru calls out Twitch for its poor security arrangement
Emiru, popular American YouTuber, recently experienced a heartbreaking incident while she was attending a meet and greet session at TwitchCon.
The three-day convention took place in San Diego and on its first day, the popular cosplayer got assaulted during the event.
On Friday, a video went viral of a man walking right up to Emiru trying to grab her for a kiss. The clip showed the streamer trying to push the man away.
Only her personal security personnel came forward to protect her, while the TwitchCon security staff members kept still and did not even move a pace to help her.
Emiru released an official statement through X, where she criticized the Twitch for the way they handled the situation.
In her statement she mentioned that the man “was allowed to cross multiple barriers at TwitchCon and even in front of another creators meet and greet to grab me and my face and try to kiss me.”
However, the organizers also responded to her by saying that they immediately blocked the individual from returning to the event.
The incident has created a storm on social media with fans saying that Twitch must apologize to Emiru for the horrendous act.
One of them wrote, “Damn, Twitch needs to apologize and let you have your good security guard back. Hope you're doing alright.”
Meanwhile, some are raising concerns that such a platform needs to be sued for its lack of security.
“Please sue twitch for lack of security or quit their streaming service stay safe out there”.
Another social media user commented, “Justice for @emiru.jpg no one deserves to be attacked twitchcon and the security failed and shame on the guy standing next to her watching it happen.”
