Cristiano Ronaldo made a new friend during Portugal’s World Cup qualifier match against Armenia and shared a heartfelt video on the internet, winning netizens’ hearts.

The 40-year-old GOAT athlete scored two goals, playing a key role in his team’s victory over Armenia by 5-0 in Group F. His international goal tally reached 140 in 222 appearances for the national side.

The Al-Nassr player took to X and shared a heartfelt video with a special young fan, writing, “I made a new friend yesterday. Grateful for the love and support every single day and I hope everyone gets to follow their dreams.”

The video featured the highest goal scorer putting his hand on the shoulder of his player escort during the national anthem ceremony, both friends having a laugh and then Ronaldo hugging the kid, giving the kid an unforgettable fan moment.

According to Sporatan, the name of the Portuguese footballer’s new friend in Ruben - he’s a young American boy with hearing and speech difficulties. 

Ruben’s dream was to meet his idol, Ronaldo and when he did, emotions took over as he was unable to hold back his tears.

The lovely gesture by the footballer has won hearts as one X user replied on his post, “I think it’s the cutest video ever.” Another expressed, “Ronaldo is not just a great footballer but also a great human being.”
