Meghan Markle receives fresh blow over remarks about royal family: 'Not racist'
Prince Harry's wife Meghan Markle faces fresh blow from prominent black singer
Meghan Markle faces blow over comments concerning senior royals who allegedly hurt her feelings by questioning Prince Archie's skin colour.
A prominent black singer said the royal family 'isn't racist', blasting the Duchess of Sussex for her comments during tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey after abandoning the UK for California.
Mica Paris, who was a pop star before becoming an actress and TV presenter, did praise Prince Harry but lashed out at his wife for 'moaning' about her treatment at hands of royal family.
In conversation with the Daily Mail's Richard Eden, Mica - who was named as one of the "Great Black Britons" - said: "I met Harry many times at the polo back in the day. Lovely guy. I've never met Meghan, but I don't agree with her that the Royal Family is racist - not from what I have experienced. I don't know if it's helpful to call out people that you think are racist. You're perpetuating that hate. Let it go."
She was a firm defender of the former Suits star when Meghan married the Duke, believing she would be a boost to the Firm and make it more diverse. But now, she's appalled by the Duchess of Sussex's behaviour.
She was particularly upset by her accusations against unnamed senior members of the royals. Meghan told Oprah that there were "several conversations" with the royal family about how dark her and Harry's baby might be, adding: "In those months when I was pregnant [there were] concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he was born."
Mica said: "We have to get to a point where we stop moaning. Don't moan. I wake up every morning, and I'm so grateful to be here."
Meghan has burnt her bridges with King Charles and Prince William and is unlikely to ever return to the UK as she's enjoying new life with her husband Harry and their two kids Archie and Lilibet in Montecito.
The Duke is also facing trust issues with his royal relatives. He must make vital step if he really wants to save relationship with Prince William and King Charles.
