Prince Harry mulls over ‘big mistake’ as royal rift put him on edge

Prince Harry had openly admitted that he would like a reconciliation with his estranged father, King Charles, during his BBC interview following the ‘devastating’ verdict on security appeal.

However, the weight of his estrangement in the royal rift truly hit him earlier last week when the royal family showed a united front with Harry notably absent from the group, according to a royal author.

“Harry is a sensitive soul and always wore his heart on his sleeve, so whether he’d admit it publicly or not, I’m sure he’s full of regrets and wishes he’d done things differently,” royal editor Duncan Larcombe told The Mirror.

The author noted how Trooping the Colour and Father’s Day landed on the same day. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s dad received a heartwarming tribute from his wife Meghan Markle, but the day must have been melancholic since the Duke of Sussex is still not on speaking terms with his father.

He explained that the coinciding big events were “bound to make him look back at the happy relationships he once had with his brother and dad, and I’m sure he’d love to be able to rebuild those.”

The remarks come amid reports that Harry will be sending invites for the forthcoming Invictus Games in Birmingham to King Charles and his brother Prince William.

It remains to be seen if Harry would finally be able to reunite once the event takes place in July 2027.
