One Million Prompters: Dubai's Sheikh Hamdan unveils AI literacy initiative
UAE state's initiative aims to train one million people in prompt engineering in the next three years
The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has unveiled the "One Million Prompters" initiative, which aims to train one million people in prompt engineering in the next three years.
While announcing the programme, he said: "With this global initiative, overseen by DFF, we aim to prepare, develop, and empower competencies with the skills needed to harness the potential of AI applications to advance innovation, progress, and economic growth."
He added: "We are experiencing a tremendous acceleration in technological progress, which requires new skills in labour markets. Coding was formerly in demand, but today, prompt engineering has become one of the most promising skills."
The programme includes training courses along with certificates, competitions, and interaction with experts.
The initiative was launched in line with Dubai’s Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, which aims to accelerate the integration of AI applications into daily life.
Earlier this month, Sheikh Hamdan also approved the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, which aims to improve everyday life for its citizens.
Under the project, the length of the beach cycling tracks will be increased, new beach areas will be created for women, more than 30 new parks will be developed, and more than 3,000 trees and plants will be planted, among other things.
