Dakota Johnson dons weary woman attire in new trailer
Dakota Johnson stars in the upcoming film Am I OK?, a dramedy that explores her character's journey of self-discovery and exploration of her sexuality.
The movie, directed by Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne, follows Lucy, a woman who reveals a secret about herself to her lifelong friend Jane (Sonoya Mizuno) as they navigate a significant change in their lives.
The film, which premiered at Sundance in 2022, will be released on the streaming service Max on June 6.
The cast also includes Jermaine Fowler, Kiersey Clemons, Molly Gordon, June Diane Raphael, and Tig Notaro.
While encouraging Johnson to come out of her shell, Mizuno says in the trailer, “You try 20 different flavors of ice cream before you settle on a single scoop.” This leads Johnson to respond that Ice-cream taste’s different than female genitals.
Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne, a real-life married couple, make their joint feature directorial debut with 'Am I OK?'.
The film is based on a script by Lauren Pomerantz. The producing team includes Dakota Johnson, Notaro, Allynne, Pomerantz, Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, Erik Feig, Lucy Kitada, and Ro Donnelly, who have all come together to bring this project to life.
