Shebara island: Saudi Arabia unveils Maldives-like resort in middle of ocean
Luxury resort set to open this summer is designed like a string of pearls
Located on the Sheybarah island in the vibrant Al Wajh Lagoon, Shebara is a chain of resorts that offer luxury and comfort in the middle of the ocean, Fact Jeddah reported.
Red Sea Global has unveiled its new Red Sea project, Shebara, which is set to open this summer. The resort consists of 73 keys, including overwater and beach villas. Guests will arrive at the island via a 45-minute boat ride or a 20-minute sea flight.
The resort is built near a coastal reef where guests can explore marine life.
Its facilities include an adult-only pool with terraces, a family pool, two luxury restaurants, a spa and a fitness centre.
Shebara also offers guests a private island if they want some exclusivity, it features a four-bedroom villa, three-bedroom villas, a private beach and a barbeque area.
Shebara aims to be a sustainable project that is powered by sunlight and is home to a solar farm.
Red Sea Global’s chief executive, John Pagano, said at an event that the design strategy of the villas lays out the villas in an arc, mirroring a "string of pearls," with a central reception building as a pivotal point in this maritime-inspired setting.
