Elon Musk advised to go rehab by concerned friends over drug use
Elon Musk's drug use will harm six businesses, $800 billion he owns
Elon Musk was advised to check himself into rehab by worried pals who thought his drug use was getting out of control after he was spotted consuming "molly water" at parties in Hollywood.
Around the winter of 2022, after several friends had voiced their concerns, the 52-year-old Tesla mogul was requested to fly to billionaire Larry Ellison's Hawaiian island to "dry out" from drugs, according to Daily Mail.
Musk was encouraged to check himself into rehab by several friends in the months following his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in October 2022, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
Growing worries were expressed about how the billionaire's extracurricular activities would harm the six businesses he controls and the $800 billion in assets owned by investors.
Ellison, the fourth richest man in the world and the owner of the island of Lanaʻi, offered to help, and this was around the same time that Musk was rumoured to have attended a party in the Hollywood Hills where he drank ecstasy in liquid form out of a water bottle.
According to the WSJ, before Musk took the medication, his security cleared the room.
Not only did his friends and acquaintances worry about his drug usage, but they also felt under pressure to use illegal substances 'because they think refraining could upset the billionaire."
