Lionel Messi, eight-time Ballon d'Or winner assisted 52 of Luis Suarez's goals
Luis Suarez of Uruguay has once again sworn loyalty to Lionel Messi as he prepares to sign with Inter Miami of the Major League Soccer.
During the just-ended summer transfer window, Barcelona made a concerted effort to sign Lionel Messi again after he finished his two-year contract with PSG and became a free agent.
Messi chose to take his skills to Inter Miami instead, as the Catalan giants needed some time to make a formal offer. There, he was welcomed by two more Barcelona superstars, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
Now that Luis Suarez's transfer to Inter Miami is almost finalised and confirmed, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that another Barcelona icon might be on his way.
The evidence indicates that Suarez's one-year contract, which includes a one-season option, is now set to be finalised following a verbal agreement one month ago.
After not playing together since 2020, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will now be reunited thanks to this signing.
Because of their psychic link, the two were highly regarded in Barcelona and were involved in some of the team's most memorable victories in its illustrious history.
Between 2014 and 2020, Suarez scored 198 goals and Messi scored 280 goals for Barcelona. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner assisted 52 of Suarez's goals throughout that time, while the legendary Uruguayan assisted 47 of Messi's.
