Florida Panthers bring back Radko Gudas in trade with Anaheim Ducks
Radko Gudas recorded two goals and 11 assists in 56 regular season games for Anaheim during the 2025-26 campaign
The Florida Panthers have acquired the rights to defenceman Radko Gudas from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward A.J. Greer, the clubs announced on Monday.
According to the NHL, Gudas is set to become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday. The 36-year-old returns to Florida after previously spending three seasons with the Panthers between 2020 and 2023, helping the team reach the 2023 Stanley Cup Final.
Gudas recorded two goals and 11 assists in 56 regular season games for Anaheim during the 2025-26 campaign and also featured in one Stanley Cup Play-off game.
The veteran joined the Ducks in 2023 and was named team captain in September 2024.
Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek praised the Czech defenceman's contribution, saying: "Radko Gudas captained our club with heart and soul over the last two seasons while making a great impact in our community. We offer our thanks and wish him great success going forward."
Greer, 29, could also become an unrestricted free agent this week as he enjoyed the best season of his NHL career, registering 17 goals and 15 assists for 32 points in 78 regular season appearances.
Greer also won the Stanley Cup with Florida in 2025.
