Bo Bichette has made 83 appearances for New York this season, recording a .254 batting average with 10 home runs
Former Toronto Blue Jays star Bo Bichette is set to make his first return to Toronto on Monday since leaving the club to join the New York Mets during the off-season.
According to MLB.com, Bichette signed a three-year, $126 million contract with the Mets after helping Toronto win the 2025 World Series.
The 28-year-old is returning to the city for the first time since Game 7 of the championship series.
Bichette has made 83 appearances for New York this season, recording a .254 batting average with 10 home runs.
While he endured a slow start to life with the Mets, his form has improved significantly in June.
The infielder was selected by the Blue Jays in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft and spent seven seasons with the organisation.
Since making his major league debut in 2019, Bichette played 748 games for Toronto, compiling a .294 batting batting average, 111 home runs and earning two All-Star selections in 2021 and 2023.
He also played a key role in the Blue Jays' World Series triumph, hitting a crucial three-run home run in the deciding game against the Los Angeles Dodgers before departing in free agency.
