Richard E. Grant explains how Spice World’s role paid him off years later

Richard E. Grant has recently elaborated on how Spice World’s unique role paid him off in the long run.

Richard starred as Spice Girls’ manager, Clifford in 1997 show, which earned him criticism from serious actors of his industry but eventually he got his perks years later.

Interestingly, Logan actor penned his new memoir, A Pocketful of Happiness, which was released in United States on August 1.

In his new biography, Richard shared his working experience with Spice Girls, who were popular at the time as well as negative reactions from his fellow actors.

“I was chastised by the more serious members of the acting fraternity for taking the role,” wrote the actor.

However, Richard stated, “But had the last laugh two decades later when Lena Dunham wrote me into four episodes of Girls, as a result of knowing me from Spice World.”

Not only that, Richard added, “Adele, with whom I share a birthday, sent me tickets to her sold-out O2 Arena concert as she is an obsessive Spice Girls fan. So, win-win!”

Meanwhile, the actor also recalled memorable moments with Spice Girls, revealing the movie’s script was there “more as a guide and cast was encouraged to improve and just be themselves”.
