Prince Harry has no plans to return to the charity founded in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana.
Sentebale charity, which was co-established by the Duke of Sussex with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in Lesotho back in 2006, has faced multiple issues, including a funding crisis and public disagreements, leading to accusations of bullying, racism, and misogyny.
As per a report by The Times, Harry will never return to Sentebale as it has been “tarnished” by a dispute with the chair of the foundation.
“The idea that Harry was ever going to return has been completely extinguished,” an insider told the outlet.
“There’s absolutely no way now. It’s all too tarnished," the source claimed.
Harry said goodbye to the charity back in March and since then the situation at Sentebale has gotten worse with a decline in donations.
The prince reportedly departed after a feud between the charity's chair, Sophie Chandauka and the board (including the duke.)
The clash resulted in accusations of racism and misogyny and the mass resignation of the board.
Sources revealed to Newsweek in August about the dispute, “There are a lot of complexities to the governance structure of Sentebale, which means we're not entirely clear as to, for example, whether or not Sentebale in Lesotho is a separate organisation and charity to Sentebale in the UK. And it's something that Prince Seeiso is exploring."
“If Prince Seeiso can find a way to extricate Sentebale in Lesotho from Sophie Chandauka he would do it in a heartbeat. If that were the case, then I think there is a world in which Prince Harry would love to work with Prince Seeiso again in effectively continuing the good work the pair have done for nearly the last two decades.”
