Felicity Jones has recently expressed her admiration for fellow Star Wars star Harrison Ford after meeting him for the first time on November 3.
The English actress confesses she was at “a loss for words” after meeting Harrison at the Los Angeles premiere of her new drama, Train Dreams on Monday.
“That was a real moment for me,” says the 42-year-old, who starred as Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Inferno actress continues, “He’s like the forefather of the whole universe. It’s like meeting my great ancestral figure.”
Sharing her experience, Felicity gushes, “I was a little bit speechless, taken aback.”
The Brutalist actress reveals that she has “studied his work and the actor” as well for her Jyn Erso character in the movie.
Felicity tells Variety that Harrison was her “massive, massive inspiration,” especially what he did in Indiana Jones.
The Theory of Everything actress opens up that she “watched them over and over and over again because I wanted to have some of that looseness that he has to be in her”.
“It was very special, the worlds colliding tonight,” adds Felicity.
For those unversed, the actress’ co-star Joel Edgerton, who played Owen Lars in two Star Wars movies, as well in the television series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, was the one who invited Harrison to the premiere.
Joel got to know Harrison as he directed the actor in an ad campaign last year for Glenmorangie Scotch Whisky.
“He’s a good enough friend to want to support the movie and hang out and that made me feel very special,” states Joel.
Directed and co-written by Clint Bentley, Train Dreams is based Denis Johnson’s novella of the same name.
Meanwhile, the movie will release in select theatres on November 7 and on Netflix on November 21.
