ISLAMABAD: The Shariat Appellate Bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday dismissed acquittal applications of a woman and her two co-accused convicted for life term for forcing a nine-year-old girl to sexual abuse.
The three-member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa heard the case.
It is to mention here that Aziz, a resident of Butkhela, married Haleema and divorced her after the birth of a daughter. Later, he sold his daughter Khushboo to Safia for Rs 15,000. Safia forced the girl for sexual abuse. The police, later, recovered the girl.
After reporting of the incident in newspapers, the Peshawar High Court chief justice took a suo motu notice. The court awarded life sentence to Safia and her accomplices Aziz and Gull Zamin.
The accused filed a petition before the Shariat Court which rejected it. Later, they approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The SC also dismissed their applications, maintained the sentence and disposed of the case.
