Governor backs plan to develop Edwardes College
PESHAWAR: Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has backed the proposed development plan for the Edwardes College Peshawar. Presiding over a meeting of the Board of Governors of the college at the Governor’s House, on Wednesday, the governor, who is also its chairman, opined that the initiatives were underway for making the role of this college more meaningful in the institutional and educational development is appreciable. He, however, assured every possible support in ensuring efficient materialization of the plan.
The meeting attended by the provincial minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, Bishop Humphrey Sarfaraz Peters, Vice-Chancellor Peshawar University, Prof Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan, Secretary Higher Education, Dr Naseer Ali Khan and the representatives of the faculties.
Those at the meeting discussed threadbare the proposal to initiate process for gradual development of the college and gave the nod to the programme. The Board of Governors approved the college budget for the year 2016-17 and also agreed to start BBA and BS English courses in the next academic year.
