Educationists and students throng ‘The News Education Expo 16’
PESHAWAR: The beautifully arranged ‘The News Education Expo 16’ of the Jang Group attracted thousands of educationists and students mostly girls from across the province who evinced a keen interest in the stalls of different education institutions.
Some 40 institutions from across the province had established outlets in the one-day ‘Expo’ at the Shiraz Arena - on the top of Deans Trade Centre.
Haroon Khan, manager marketing of Jang Group and his staff, were receiving the visitors at the main entrance of the hall.
The chief guest on the occasion was Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information and Higher Education, who visited each and every stall in the event and exchanged views with the organisers.
Talking to media, Mushtaq Ghani lauded the effort of the Jang Group to bring all the major education institutions from across the country, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under one roof. He said that such efforts were greatly needed for promotion of education.
The special assistant said that the event provided a great opportunity to the students to know about different universities and their ongoing programmes.
According to him, it was encouraging to see the students in such a great number, who are taking interest in different stalls of various institutions.
The event would enable them to choose better institution for pursuing their desired studies at the higher level.
The stalls set up on the occasion were the main areas of interest for the visiting students and others. Some stalls had been uniquely beautified to grab the attention of the visitors.
A great rush of people was seen at the stalls of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University for Women, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Bacha Khan University Charsadda, Agriculture University Peshawar and others.
The private institutions were also not behind in attracting the attention of the visitors. The visitors were provided informative brochures and leaflets about different programmes and projects of the institutions concerned. At some stalls the visitors were also provided small gifts like ball-points, drafting pads and candies etc.
At almost all the stalls apart from the informative materials some success stories of the institutions concerned had been put on display. These projects and success programmes of the different institutions were another area of interest for the visitors.
The universities officials and students at every stall remained busy in providing necessary information to the students and other visitors.
The management of Jang Group had also arranged a lucky draw for the visiting students through which some lucky participants were given away prizes like motorbike, refrigerator and others.
