QUETTA: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan DG Tariq Mahmood Khan on Saturday said the cash recovered from the residence of provincial Finance Secretary Mushtaq Raisani is the largest in the country’s history.
Talking to media, he said the recovered amount Rs 651.8 million was to be transferred abroad through illegal channels, adding that the matter was being investigated with a zero-tolerance policy.
He said it was premature to comment on the alleged involvement of any political figure in the mega corruption case.
He said all the record related to Raisani had been seized, adding that there were various angles to the case and new facts would surface in coming days. He said the record would be scrutinised and those involved were to be punished.
He said NAB would not come under any pressurise, adding that action would be taken on the basis of merit against any in-service or retired officer if involved in corruption.
Tariq said the civil and military leadership in the province was on the same page against corruption which was mostly committed through development projects.
