Cricket debacle

Team Pakistan’s below-par performance in the Asia Cup has proved that until we overhaul our domestic structure, we will keep struggling. One PSL is not good enough to produce world-class cricketers. There is a serious question mark over the criteria adopted by our selection committee. To keep selecting tried and test players is just beyond any logic. It is fair to say that both the players as well as the management failed to show professionalism.

After the T20, we need to get rid of all old faces – both within the team and in the management – and bring in some fresh blood. Until we do not care about merit and keep taking decisions based on nepotism, there is no way we can prevail for a longer run.

I do not know why our cricket team always come under so much pressure when playing India. Their winning or losing a match against India is not going to decide the fate of Kashmir.

They should always play what is a normal game for them and give their best.
