ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said the biggest beneficiaries of privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will be non others but its employees.
Speaking in Geo News programme ‘Capital Talk’ hosted by senior anchor Hamid Mir, the Minister said PIA’s privatization will be undertaken only with the consent of the national flag carrier’s employees.
He said besides other benefits the salaries of PIA’s employees will also see a boost after the airline’s privatization. “The salaries of 95 percent employees of PIA, who really work, will witness a rise,” he added.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said there cannot be a bigger guarantee than the Prime Minister’s assurance and he has emphatically said that the rights of the PIA’s employees will be protected.
