2,763 terrorists killed since launch of Zarb-e-Azb: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Since beginning of Operation Zarb-e-Azb last June, over 2,763 terrorists have killed and their 837 hide outs destroyed, according to Inter Services Public Relations.

Major General Asim Bajwa, Spokesman for ISPR, in his tweets said, Pakistan military has achieved significant success in FATA specially North Waziristan Agency and Khyber Agency, where militants strong holds, infrastructure and sanctuaries have largely been cleared.

Asim Bajwa said operation Zarb-e-Azb is moving to the last few pockets close to Pak-Afghan border. So far 2,763 terrorists have been killed, 837 hideouts destroyed and 253 tons explosive recovered.




Over 18,087 weapons including Heavy Machine Guns, Light Machine guns, sniper rifles, rocket launcher, AK-47s were searched out of terrorists hideouts from NWA alone.

The spokesman went on to say, during 9,000 intelligence based operations, carried out in the cities, thousands of terrorists and their abettors were apprehended and 218 hard core militants were killed.

As many as 347 officers and soldiers embraced shahadat (martyrdom) since launch of the military operation, he said.

The general further said the entire nation stood united to totally eliminate terrorism. He also hailed media and civil society for their positive role to help end the menace.




The military spokesman vowed to continue operations for terror free Pak, adding that Chinese President and other dignitaries' visits, Pak-Zimbabwe cricket series and China Pakistan Economic Corridor are result of improved environment in the country.
