Punjab Home Minister asks lawyers to observe patience

LAHORE: Punjab Home Minister Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada on Tuesday urged the lawyers community to observe patience, assuring them criminals involved in the killings of their fellow lawyers will be brought to justice.

According to a statement issued here, the Punjab Home Minister said an International team (Zimbabwe) is on a visit to Pakistan after a long time, thus, the lawyers must keep their calm.

"A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has been formed to probe the killing of two lawyers in Daska", he said.

Khanzada added that the Daska incident was the act of an individual officer and he said action will be taken against those involved.

The Punjab Home Minister further said his provincial government shared the grief of lawyers community and families of lawyers who were killed in Daska.

"The accused have already been arrested and the provision of justice will be ensured", he said.
