KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that fool proof security will be ensured to the Zimbabwe team during cricket matches in the metropolis planned for next month.
“Revival of international cricket after six years is a cheerful occasion for everyone”, the Commissioner said in response to a letter of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) requesting for the arrangements and security of the Zimbabwe cricket team for the matches to be played at National Stadium, Karachi during their visit to Pakistan in May.
“Sports for peace is our message we feel pride in hosting Zimbabwe cricket team in the city,” he remarked in response to PCB letter.
“It is a collective responsibility of all to not only highlight Pakistan s positive aspect with reference to sports but also give a message to the world that Pakistan is a safe country for sports,” the Commissioner said.
“It will be a way forward for other international cricket teams to play in Pakistan. Pakistan’s soft image should be highlighted before the world,” Commissioner Shoaib Siddiqui said.
He said that all required arrangements including security would be ensured with the help of police law enforcement agencies and the city administration during the ODI and T 20 matches scheduled in Karachi. (APP)
